Count-In privacy policy

This is the privacy policy for the Count-In metronome app for Android, provided by Yuval Herman, trading as Better Musician. Our website has its own policy at https://better-musician.com/privacy.

The short version

• The app works entirely on your phone. It has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything anywhere.
• No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. It does not use the microphone.
• We, the developer, receive none of your data.

What the app stores on your phone

• Your settings: tempo, time signature, accent and subdivision choices, click sound, theme and colours, speed trainer and silent-bar settings.
• The songs and setlists you save.

This data lives in the app's private storage. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

Export and import. If you choose Export in the Songs screen, the app writes a file to a location you pick with Android's file picker. If you choose Import, it reads a file you pick. Neither happens unless you ask for it.

Permissions and why

Permission	Why
Foreground service (media playback)	To keep the metronome running with the screen off or while you use another app, with a notification to stop it.
Notifications	To show that notification on current versions of Android.
Wake lock	To keep playback steady while the metronome is running.
Vibrate	Only if you turn on vibration as beat feedback.

The app does not ask for the microphone, camera, contacts, location or storage.

Sharing and third parties

We do not share your data, because we never receive it. The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services.

Backups

If you have Android's device backup turned on, Android may include this app's data in the backup stored in your Google account. That is controlled by your phone's settings and Google's terms. We cannot see it.

Deleting your data

Uninstall the app, or open Android Settings, Apps, Count-In, Storage, and clear storage.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
